Hibiscus has long been used by many cultures for its health benefits with it being rich in antioxidants like beta-carotene and vitamin C. However, this flower has a lot of power in it’s flavor.
Hibiscus has a slightly tart cranberry flavor with a sweet and earthy floral background. It is able to hold up as a finishing salt to enhance a variety of dishes including pork, salads, chocolatey deserts. For those home bartenders, jazz up this weekends Margarita by rimming your glass with it.
We make our Hibiscus salt with dried and ground Hibiscus flowers from the same species of Hibiscus that is found in the many herbal teas made with it.
